The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of basketball-based agility and change of direction practices on some performance parameters in 10-11 year old boys. The study included 42 participants (n=20 experimental group; n=22 control group) who were active in basketball among 10-11 years old boys in Kütahya province. Anthropometric measurements, vertical jump (cm), 25-meter sprint (sec,ss), 25-meter V cut (floor) (sec,ss) and Illinois agility (sec,ss) tests were taken from the experimental and control groups before and after the training period. In the experimental group, basketball-based agility and change of direction drills were added to the basketball combined technical and tactical program. The control group only practiced branch-specific training that included basketball combined technique and tactics. In both groups, the trainings were conducted for eight weeks and 3 days a week. One-way Covariance analysis and Independent samples t test were applied to the data obtained. The changes in vertical jump, 25 meter V cut and Illinois agility values were significant in favor of the experimental group. It is also seen that the effect value is large in favor of the experimental group. As a result; basketball-based agility and direction change practices contribute positively to vertical jump, 25 m V cut direction change and Illinois agility in terms of performance in 10-11 age group children.
