Comparison of Firs Aid Knowledge Levels of Physical Education Teachers Working in Bağcılar District of Istanbul
Abstract
In daily life of during sports competition when emergency case accors it can be life threatening. According to researchers is sports competition there are 1-2 emergency cases in 1/1000 hours. Because of this in areas, schools and playfields working people need to have information about first aid. In this study 113 physical education teachers working in bağcılar are asked 40 questions which are certified by the health department to measure teacher’s knowledge level about first aid. Answers of this questions are analysed by using SPSS 22.0 program. Prepared by the health department, in the first aid theoretical knowledge examination only 20 of our Physical Education Teachers could pass and they could get an 80 minimum passing score. This information makes us think that we need to review and enhance our first aid education process. ix As the result of statistical analysis there is no meaningful connection with knowledge level, education, professional experience, gender, age, school type or having or not having first aid education.
